Thank you for conducting this survey. 33 has become so dangerous that it is a requirement for our family to live somewhere with a turning lane and I feel nervous driving my toddler from Victor to Driggs in fear of a collision. I don't believe that people's driving habits will change without massive infrastructure change. Individuals will continue to go whatever speed they want, despite a limit change, so I feel it's most important to widen the highway and create turning lanes to make it safer for more cars to be traveling on the road at once.
Highway 33 is carrying way too much traffic for its current condition. Intersections with side roads are scary. There are not enough turn lanes and the ones that are there are too narrow. If you are turning off of 33 onto a side road, you should have a nice wide turn lane that gets you out of the traffic, not one you have to squeeze into. Also, there shouldn’t be a pothole at the corner that you have to miss while making the turn.
More patrolling of traffic is needed to crackdown on cellphone use while driving. Signage and traffic patrol would keep driver’s attention on the road.
Someday, this valley will have twice the population as today. Bypassing both cities will be necessary. May as well do it now, before Teton Valley ends up with the mess we see in Jackson Hole.
Thanks. I attended as a good Citizen would.
