Pedestrian, Bicycle, and Non-Vehicle Safety

A main focus of the SS4A program is making travel safer for non-vehicular users. This presents a unique challenge for our rural county, as there is limited multimodal infrastructure or public transit. A characteristic dispersed population means that people rely more on personal vehicles for daily travel.

 

Part of our goal for this project is to create a data set for non-vehicular safety issues through public outreach

Pedestrian use where no facilities exist can be a safety concern. Some places we’ve identified are shown here:
